About Simone
I didn't start out in marketing. I started out studying people.
My undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria began in psychology — human behaviour, motivation, the mechanics of how people make decisions — before I specialized in social work and anti-oppressive practice. What that training gave me wasn't a writing credential. It was something more useful: a finely tuned ear for how language lands.
After graduating with distinction in 2020, I worked as an Executive Assistant and Research Analyst at the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness where clear, audience-aware communication was key. In 2023 I joined Beacon Hill Children's Farm and became their Administrative Assistant and Social Media Lead, writing and managing content for one of Victoria's most beloved community organizations.
Since then I've expanded into freelance copywriting and content strategy, working with clients including the Victoria Contact Improvisation Festival and Sensible Kitchen & Bath to build brand voices and campaigns from the ground up.
I'm also deeply fluent in AI, not as a shortcut but as a tool I've thought carefully about. I studied Social Media Marketing and completed a Micro-Credential in Applied AI through UVic Continuing Studies in 2025, and I'm actively following how AI is reshaping search, content strategy, and communication.
I'm based in Victoria, BC, and I'm genuinely passionate about this moment in tech and about helping brands navigate it efficiently and authenticly .
